Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Wooden Rowing Shells, and we'd love to have this added to the group!

This is crew, not swimming. Note the coxswain.

Most of these men appear to be much older than normal university age.

The photo is from much later, but plausible. The dates of his time at Cornell certainly match.

That would be "Poughkeepsie," as in Poughkeepsie, NY.

In fact, this and the whole series looks like they're from the Intercollegiate Rowing Association's Poughkeepsie Regatta. It appears that the Cornell Varsity team won that year. :) Marist U. has an archive: library.marist.edu/archives/regatta/index.html
