Patrick Joseph McDonald (McDonnell-) (1887-1954) won the gold for men's shot put and silver for men's two-handed shot put. Matthew John McGrath (1877-1941) took the gold medal in men's hammer throw. John Paul Jones (1890-1970) won no medals. Albert Richard "Abel" Kiviat (1892-1991) won silver in the men's 1,500 metre run and gold in the men's 3,000 metre run.

On February 1, 1914, Captain John McClintock was appointed First Deputy Police Commissioner of New York City. He resigned ten months later; a New York Times story on December 8, 1914, hinted that the resignation had been inspired by a desire to accept a police post in the newly-created (and USA-administered) Panama Canal Zone.
