Well spotted on both counts swang. Jim Thorpe it is. He's the only one not wearing a club or college emblem too.
As one commenter said in the other contiguous photograph to which you have linked, it looks like there were some more athletes to the right of that photogrpah too. So they may be a third in this series. -

It is very fitting that Thorpe is the only athlete not wearing any sort of affiliated clothing. It makes him stand out for the truly remarkable athlete he was.
