Info from forgottenjets.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/F-4.html 142259 YF4H-1 Phantom II MSN 1. First prototype. 5/27/1958: First flight. 10/1958: Bailed back to McDonnell Corp. 10/21/1959: Crashed near Mount Pinos / Gorman, CA when engine access door fell off in flight. Pilot was killed.
