At age 19, Inez Sprague (1889-1981), "the belle of Rhode Island," granddaughter of the former governor Sprague (also the granddaughter of Salmon P. Chase), eloped with Harry Stiness, the son of a judge. She was supposed to marry another man the next day. He died in New York City but was entombed in Fairhaven, MA. I am not sure if this photo is in front of a church in New York City or Massachusetts. He seems to be NYC, but I can't confirm it.

    H. H. Rogers was a Unitarian. His funeral in May, 1909, was held in Manhattan, at the Unitarian Church of the Messiah, at 34th Street and Park Avenue, where he had been a member for many years. In 1919, the church changed its name to Community Church. Rogers was buried in Fairhaven, Massachusetts.
