Petrol Pump looks like the Shell Hammond D type of the 1920s. See Items PP 119 and PP120 just before half way down this selection: xxxxantiques.com.au/antiques_collectables_old_vintage_ant...

Andy Brill beachcomber australia Thanks for your input folks! This one is tricky. Can't seem to find any other images detailing the two jetties. the street lamps and the fuel pumps. There is a notice on the pier that reads: 'Notice. / Sydney Harbour Trust / fishing from these jetties is strictly prohibited....By order W.E. Austin'. EW Austin was appointed chairman to the SHT in 1930. The steam launch in the background appears to have the word 'VANILLO' or 'VANILLO' on it.

Second thoughts - Bennelong Point, east side, near Man o' War steps. The area was a mass of jetties c.1930 (pre-Opera House) - see this c.1927 map - The "VANILLO" may be an advert on a steam vehicle ferry (see map above).
