    What a beautiful boat.

"Mona" was owned by the Marquis of Anglesey, and was one of two English speedboats in the races held on Huntington Bay, Long Island, in August, 1912. The other English boat, "Maple Leaf IV", won the (Harmsworth) Trophy. It was piloted by pioneer aviator T.O.M. Sopwith. The race was the main subject of the second chapter of the book "Speedboat Kings : 25 Years of International Speedboating" by J. Lee Barrett [Detroit : Arnold-Powers, Inc., 1939], which can be found online here. Multiple articles about the event from The New York Times archive can also be found with a Google search on "Harmsworth Trophy 1912".

I think she's moored, there seems to be a stern rope as well.
