Perhaps doesn't help with dating, but the hillside "chapel of ease" appears to have been built after the OSI 6" survey (1829-41), and before the OSI 25" survey (1897-1913). It was clearly demolished some time since.

This steam merry go round was imported to Melbourne Australia in 1881 by my great grandfather William Charles Baxter. He toured country districts of Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and New Zealand with his shows and was a pioneer of the amusement business at St Kilda.
