    Exactly the same ride, but red and blue, remained well into the 1970'ies at the Swedish amusement park Liseberg in Gothenburg. It was called "Swingoplan". I was born in 1965 and I rode it around 1973 I think. I remember the "safety belt", just an inch-wide leather belt around my waist. The inside was clad with well worn vinyl and leather padding. It was a great ride.

    In the U.S.A. the ride was actually called The Bullet. That was before it became ... incorrect .... to call it as such. When I was a kid in the '60's this was a mainstay on the midway of the (rather large) Mahoning County Fair (Ohio). This ride can still be found at many county fairs.
