This one gave me goosebumps. The depth of field and lighting really gives the image a three-dimensional quality. You can just imagine the noise of all those children!!

This was a "Continuous" show. You paid your nickel and entered; when you'd seen all the acts, you left. The brown pelican has its own perch, so it certainly traveled with the show. I don't see any chain on the leg, so it was probably a pet bird rather than a captured bird.

The Rutland State Fair girlie show lasted into the early 80's before it was shut down. It became extremely raunchy towards the end of its run (even I was shocked!)

Great image,Depth and expression of the human condition travling with a Carni in the 40's was a harsh life.The detail in these images brings to life so well those days of doubt and mystery.Very powerful.
