    Most of those churchs (chatedrals) still exists in several villages of Yucatan today. We still can read at the ancient brick's captions the building dates; something like this: "Esta catedral de San Juán fue construida en el año de 1577" or things and years like that. Also, most of those chatedrals were built over ancient mayan temples, using the same bricks, in a try of the conquerors to "convert" the mayan people to catolicism
