There was a silk strike in Paterson, New Jersey in 1913 led by Lessig. Lessig and Haywood were subsequently convicted of being disorderly persons due to a large protest march which formed behind them. So, this composite photograph relates to that. According to NYTimes obit (see link below), Adolph Lessig "gained nationwide publicity during the silk strike of 1913 when he led the strike as the business agent of the International Workers of the World."
