    Harold Pinter wrote a screenplay called Langrishe, Go down about a declining aristocratic family in Kilkenny ,so must be the same? It was made into a film with Judi Dench and Jeremy Irons - www.imdb.com/title/tt0077830/ . At least part of it was filmed around the Waterford/Kilkenny area and a friend of mine got a walk-on part .

    No doubt looking forward to the annual May meeting of the Royal Yacht Squadron, held at Claridge's Hotel on May 8th 1913, which he attended with many other titled and benobled gentry. One member who was missing was Captain R. F. Scott, who had recently died leading the Antarctic Expedition. (London Times May 9th 1913)

    SIR HERCULES LANDRISHE Sir Hercules Langrishe, fith Baronet, who dies on Saturday at his family seat of Knocktopher, Co. Kilkenny, was well known in yachting circles. Born in London in 1859, he was educated at Malvern, and entered the army, serving in the 3rd Battalion of the Oxfordshire Light Infantry, and retiring withthe rank of major. Later he served with the Royal Navy, from which he retired with thr rank of commander. A King's Messenger in the period of the last war he carried dispatches to Russia. Elected a member of the Royal Yacht Squadron in 1887, he won the Queen's cup with Samoena in the following year, and later won many other races. He is succeeded by his son Terence Hume, late Irish Guards amd R.A.F., who was born in 1895, was married in 1926 to Joan, daughter of Major Ralph Grigg, and has three sons.

    The London Times, Monday, Sep 16, 1918
    Commander Sir Hercules Langrishe, R.N.V.R., was fined £2 by the Isle of Wight bench for using a motorcycle without a permit. His solicitor said that at the time he was on Government duty as a King's Messenger.
    The magistrates probably realised that Cowes wasn't on the route to Russia (unless you start the journey in Shanklin).

    beachcomber australia Rectors and curates, more likely. Heaslips generally are COI. There was a Jack Heaslip who was the curate in Malahide for a while, but he'd have been a generation later than this. Coincidentally, he was followed by a Mr Long (I can't remember his christian name). Edit: Kingsley Long - that was his name.

    Mind you, in 1911, all the Kilkenny Longs and the only two Kilkenny Heaslips were RC, so maybe they're priests after all.

    Narrowing the date very slightly, familysearch.org shows Jack John Heaslip marrying Eilis Long in the 4th quarter of 1952 in Thomastown registration district.
