17 October 1912 was a Thursday ... Is that Mrs O'Connor with all the furry bits and muff? Giving us a steely look.

The only wedding featuring an O'Connor on 17 Oct. 1912 that I could find was this one between James Bourke and Johanna O'Connor. But I'm not convinced that it is the right one. The groom looks older than 26 to me.

Mrs. O'Connor is from Granagh, Waterford, making it less likely that it is the above wedding, which was in Tipperary.

This wedding between Thomas O'Connor and Evelyn Erlwin (?) on the 16th looks a bit more likely.

The New Ross Standard of 12th August 1949 has a description of a wedding between John Quigley of Rathduff, Killanne and Miss Agnes King of Astinvillar, which took place in Waterford Cathedral on Wed. 10th. The reception was in the Imperial Hotel Waterford with about 30 guests.

Bridesmaid: Miss Bridie King (sister of the bride wearing stone coloured dress, and brown accessories) Best Man: Mr. Patrick Quigley (brother to the groom) Celebrant: Rev. P Brennan OSA Grantstown, Wellington Bridge (cousin to the groom) Bride's parents: Mr & Mrs Henry King, Askinvillar Groom's father: Late Patrick Quigley of Faree, Fouksmills The bride wore pink, with blue accessories.

The Enniscorthy Guardian of 3rd July 1987 mentions the death of John Quigley of Rathduff, Rathnure on June 22nd at the age of 77.

Here is the marriage record of Agnes King's parents in 1919. Her mother being Rebecca Hickey.

Mr William Lennon of Lisnageeragh, Bonmahon was 28 in 1911.

Mr Jeremiah Lennon of Lisnageeragh, Bonmahon was appointed to the post of Poor Rate Collector for Kilmacthomas in September 1928. (Waterford Standard - Wednesday 13th June 1928)

New Ross Standard - Friday 28 September 1951. Looks promising at first but (1) wrong number of priests, (2) wrong number of bridesmaids (3) Neither groom nor best man is William. So I conclude wrong wedding, but some of the dramatis personae might well be the same.

The wedding, with Nuptual Mass and Papal Blessing, of Mr James Lennon, son or Mrs Lennon, Knocktopher, Co. Kilkenny, and the late Mr. Jeremiah Lennon and Miss Agnes O'Connell, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs Michael O'Connell, 2 Scotch Quay, Waterford, took place at St. John's Church, Waterford. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father O'Shea, O.P., St. Saviour's, Waterford, and Very Rev. A. Barron, ADM,. St. John's. The best man was Mr. Jeremiah Lennon, brother of the bridegroom. The bride was given away by her father, and was attended by her sister, Miss Margt. O'Connell. She was attired in a dusty two-piece with navy accessories and wore a spray of Lily of the Valley, Going away on the honeymoon, which will be spent in Dublin, the bride was attired in a grey costume. The bridesmaid wore turquoise, with matching accessories. The receprion was held at the Adelphi Hotel.

Waterford Standard - Saturday 02 July 1949:

Mr William Lennon, Glen House, Lisnageeragh, Bonmahon. retired draper's assistant. left £2,187

in his will, presumably.

Mrs. Mary Ann Lennon, Glen House, Bonmahon, died at her residence on Monday, at an advanced age. She was widow of the late Mr. Michael Lennon, extensive horse and cattle dealer, who predeceased her some twelve years ago, and sister-in-law of Very Rev. John. Lennon, P.P., Stradbally, and Mr.William Lennon, who gave most of his life-time at Messrs Robertson Ledlie's, The Quay, Waterford, both since deceased. To her family - Messrs. Wm. Lennon, Glen House, Bonmahon; John Lennon, Leamybrien, and Dennis Lennon, rathanny, Kill, and her daughters, Mrs P. Power, Rathgormack; Mrs J Quinlan, do; and Mrs. William Harney, Ballydurn, Kilmacthomas - sympathy is extended.

So that's a William Lennon, of the right address. The Jeremiah lot seem to be a different lot to the Williams.
