The story of these to women is simply incredible. Their bond must be very strong. I wonder how accurate "The Miracle Worker" tells their story. This is a wonderful moment in time. I am glad someone was there to photograph it.

the 1913 International Flower show related to these photos was held at the Grand central palace. Unfortunately the building was demolished and I can't find any record of the eagles. The International Flower Show, co-sponsored with the New York Florist’s Club, was the grandest of the shows produced by The Horticultural Society. I also have to say that she is given way less credit than she should be. Where would Helen Keller have gotten without her? Exactly!

This is a great picture. It captures the time period quite effectively. She truly is an inspiration to us all. It's amazing to know that she was the first person who was both deaf and blind to graduate from college. I recently read on Wikipedia that she was an activist as well. I didn't know that she campaigned for women's right to vote.
