Edward Everett McCall (1863-1924), former New York Supreme (Trial) Court Justice, unsuccessful New York Mayoral Candidate, and here in January 1915 Chairman of the New York (State) Public Service Commission, making an appearance at the disaster site. Edward Everett McCall (1863-1924) New York Supreme Court justice, and his wife, the former Ella F. Gaynor. In 1913, Edward Everett McCall was appointed by the governor to the Public Service Commission. in 1914 1913 also, Edward Everett McCall was running for mayor of New York City, with Tammany Hall backing. The daughters are Constance (standing) and Ella--Ella married William Maloney in 1915.

What is that on the right side of Constance's face?

If you look at the photo of Constance and the dogs, next to this, you can see that her hat has a veil; I assume it's probably the veil.

It is likely that McCall was named for the famous 19th-century orator Edward Everett (the windbag who shared the platform with Abraham Lincoln at the dedication of the Gettysburg Cemetery). That truly was an unflattering design on the veil that the young lady wore: it resembles a bad skin disease, or an attack of giant flying insects . . . .
