    Mary Bartelme (1866-1954) was the first woman judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County (Chicago), assigned to the Juvenile Court (1923-1933). She was born in Chicago and earned her law degree at Northwestern; co-founder of the Chicago Business Woman's Club, active in the suffrage movement and in reforms of the juvenile justice system.
