This is a photograph of the ceremonies held on March 20, 1913, to mark the opening of 9 new firehouses in New York City. The firehouse at 111th Street (and Engine 91), was one of the nine new firehouses celebrated that day.

FIRE ALARM TO OPEN 9 NEW FIREHOUSES

"Unusual ceremonies will mark the opening on Thursday afternoon, March 20, [1913], of the nine new firehouses which are to house ten new companies. Mayor Gaynor will start the companies for their new stations by turning in an alarm from the City Hall, [photo] and later in the day he will award the Fire Department medals to the men who have been selected for distinguished service." Engine 91 of the New York Fire Department (FDNY) was placed in service on March 20, 1913. [1]   Ladder Company 43 was originally quartered with Engine 91 and Battalion 25 in 1913. Ladder 43 later moved to new quarters at 1836 2nd Ave.[2]

Engine 91 was housed at 244 E. 111th Street, in Manhattan -- proudly known then, and now as "Spanish Harlem". The firehouse exists to this day, and houses the latest iteration of Engine 91. Both the firehouse and the latest version of Engine 91 have been used as set locations for major television and motion picture productions, including the  FX series Rescue Me. [3]

While there isn't a date when the 1913 Engine 91 was removed from service, there was a replacement put in service on Jan 1, 1916.

The historic Scone Railway Station, located in the town of Scone, New South Wales, lies on the Main North Line. It was opened in 1871. [1]

Scotts Mills Bridge, also known as Newlen Bridge, crossed Butte Creek on the Clackamas and Marion County line in the small logging community of Scotts Mills. (Population: 360 in 2013.)

Reported as being built in either 1906 or 1924, the bridge was used extensively in the community until 1951 when Marion County replaced it with the present steel bridge of a Warren polygonal pony truss design on what is now known as South Nowlens Bridge Road. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
