Ford's Theatre – Then, Then and Now (100+ years later)

Restoration work was underway during much of 2007-08 in preparation for the re-opening ceremony on February 12, 2009, which commemorated Lincoln's 200th birthday. An earlier photograph when the building was originally a church is included.

How did they do color in 1860? This is amazing. I bet the almost flat roof leaked like a lot of churches still do. Where are these statues now?? I really like the way the grounds used to look. It had dignity.

I think this was hand colored...

was this glass plate film? if it was then it was hand painted
