Talbot or Clément-Talbot Limited was a British automobile manufacturer founded in 1903. Clément-Talbot’s products were named just Talbot shortly after its introduction, but the business remained Clément-Talbot Limited until 1938 when it was renamed Sunbeam-Talbot Limited. The 1905 Talbot lineup consisted of four twin-cylinder models: 7/8, 8/9, 9/11 and 10/12 and five four-cylinder models, from 12/14 up to a 6.3-litre 35/50. The first all-British Talbots were 1906, 3.8-litre, 20/28hp model, followed by the 2.7-liter,12/16 and bot cddi well in races and speed trails. These cars were designed by C R Garrard, who had worked with Adolphe Clement since 1888. His 1907 design was a dual-ignition, three-liter, 15hp model. This ambulance was actually operated by the Central District of the NSW Ambulance Transport Service. The Central District was originally in charge of the Central Sydney (CBD) area, but gradually expanded to include all the Sydney Metropolitan Districts. The photo appears to be taken near Central Railway Station, where the ambulance headquarters were located. The lane is called Ambulance Avenue and is still there, just off Broadway. The NSWATSB was made up of members from the various District committees throughout NSW and was partly funded by the NSW Government. It was the fore runner to today's Ambulance Service of NSW.

Yes, the photo is taken within the precinct of Central Railway Station. It is just of Railway Square and in the driveway that takes you under the station itself, which used to be called Ambulance Avenue. The building in the back is the old Parcels Office and is now the Medina Hotel. The edge of the building on the far right is Marcus Clarke - another GREAT Sydney Department store. Both buildings were completed in 1913 but Marcus Clarke had an extension done in 1928 which doesn't appear to be in this pic.
