More than fifty people in one play? It seems just a little unlikely. Maybe this is the whole company, plus the music, with maybe a few local supers as well? And perhaps the costumes represent the major part of the Murray Company wardrobe? But what a splendid photograph....

There's program from the "Ballykinlar Players" from April 1921 as well as a poster from October (1921?) in South Dublin Libraries.

Apparently they went on in 1922 to play in the Queen's Theatre.

Odd that it's called "Ballykinlar" with an 'a'. It's Ballykinler on the map, as far back as the 6", and also on the roadsigns: www.google.ie/maps/@54.257872,-5.7995965,3a,43.3y,222.49h... Looks like they wouldn't let the gogglemobile in to look at the camp.

Definitely amateur dramatics and don't they look very well? AOH is surely the Ancient Order and the Pirates is a resonable assumption!

And I can't work out who the chap in the middle of the front row is supposed to be! But I'm going out on an limb and tagging with Pirates of Penzance, if that's ok with all of you. We can revisit if someone comes up with a better solution.
