December 18, 1915, Saturday, Page 8, 615 words The ring career of Ad Wolgast, the former lightweight champion, received a severe check last night at the Harlem Sporting Club, when the referee stopped the bout between the Western boxer and Leach Cross at the end of the sixth round. With both eyes closed and blood streaming from an old wound the former title holder staggered to his corner helpless when the gong ended the hostilities in the sixth round. The fight took place in San Francisco, which ties in with the Cana Studio tag noted above and visible in the photo as embossed letters.
