Next door in the catalogue is POOLEWP 4260, with the happy couple and witnesses, titled Holohan Scroope Wedding. And then POOLEWP 4259, general group of all.

And here in the civil records is the wedding of John Ernest Houlihan and Anastasia Scroope, 6th of June, 1938. Witnesses Francis Wright and Teresa Houlihan.

Odd that in 1938 Anastasia's fathers occupation is listed as RIC, when the RIC ceased to exist in what, 1921?

'An Australian wedding frock' is how one could describe the frock which Cecily Sandercock will wear when she is married to Jim Fearnley on April 11. Satin with a full box pleated skirt, and a long train, it has a square neckline embroidered with seed pearls . Cecily's matron of honour —Mrs. A. Hartwig — will wear sale mauve Swiss organdie ,with narrow pleating round the square neckline. The wedding ring Cecily will wear has been made from portions of her mother's wedding ring and Jim's mother's wedding ring. nla.gov.au/nla.news-article50566163
