    Mr Poole thoughtfully supplied a similar view from upstairs in his house (next door?). 'Sleeping Beauty' was on his posters, and for comparison it is "ca. 7 April 1910" - catalogue.nli.ie/Record/vtls000592493

The Burkes of Vine Cottage

    For what it's worth, there was a Vine Cottage in Tabot St, Tramore, a guest house in the 1860s - 1880s, run by Mrs Duggan. The Waterford Mirror and Tramore Visitor would list all hotels and guest houses every week with who was staying there.

    No sign of the right Burkes in the census, though.

    There was also a Vine Cottage in Piltown, address of Miss Stephenson, who won £1 for the best kept cottage of people with no children, at the Iverk Farming Society's annual show (Waterford Standard - Saturday 18 September 1909).

    A few Burkes in the 1911 census in Piltown, but the people in the photo are a better match for the Stephensons of Piltown. (2 parents in their 70s, 2 daughters and a son) www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/results.jsp?searchM...
