This is not Robinson Terrace, Columbia. It is Station Road, Usworth looking towards Front Street, New Washington (Concord) with the white building on the right the former King's Cinema. To the immediate right of the Bus Stop is the former Edith Avenue. I lived in this area at the time of the photograph so recognise the area well.

The photographer is standing in what is now, the middle of the North end of the Southbound car park at Birtley services. Looking over Malley's Hole (an old pit) to Harraton Colliery on the left. The Magnesium Limestone Escarpment (A Heugh) at Heugh Hall (or what the new generation prefer to call Old Quarrington) sticks out like a sore thumb on the horizon.
