    The Lake Macquarie & District Historical Society hold an original of this photograph, the caption reads as follows; Roadside erosion is also a serious problem. Gully checks have been used to satbilise a bad gully and thus protect the Sturt Highway near Wagga Wagga. Advise on soil conservation is freely available from local Conservation Offices or the Secretary, Department of Conservation, Sydney.

    Museums of History NSW - State Archives Collection Each time I browse through Series 4481 (my favourite) I find more and more wrong descriptions, bad or mis-spelled titles (so that the images cannot be found in searches), and obvious errors. I wish there was a simple way to fix them up, but via flickr is ok for now.
