According to Kenny’s the Rockland Hotel was built in 1935 and was owned by the Monaghan sisters. The shop with the canopy on the left is a sweet shop. www.kennys.ie/old-galway/1893-the-rockland-hotel

The car at right is registered ZC 6124. This series was used in Dublin from March 1937 to January 1940 and, given the number 6124, it seems likely that it was allocated towards the end of the period.

Looks from the 25" like there should be tram lines in front of it, but between the blurriness of the road and the general policy of the time of ripping up tramlines, there's nothing identifiable in the image. They're not marked on the post-war 6". Edit: The hotel with the tramlines in front of it is a hundred yards behind the cameraman, on the corner of Atlantic terrace. (still standing, btw).
