    All these FSA pictures of the South Water freight terminal are amazing. The Hibbard, Spencer building to the right was later known at the Encylopedia Brittanica building and for a while housed part of the Chicago Public Library. It has since been torn down.

    I believe the spot where the photographer is standing would be underground now, as they've built three layers of elevated street above this. This would be someplace near the loading dock for the 205-225 N. Michigan complex.
