The little girl is probably the ill-fated Gloria Gould Bishop Barker (1906-1943), who would marry twice before drowning in her swimming pool at 37: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gloria_Gould The other one is probably Edith Catherine Gould Wainwright MacNeal (Lady MacNeal) (1902?-1937), who also married twice before dying young; her son Stuyvesant Wainwright II (b. 1921) was briefly a Congressman. No, that appears to be a gigantic stoneboat, perched on rollers, with a massive framework surrounding the stone, probably to prevent accidental breakage or chipping while in transit. The stories suggest that it was Rockefeller's plan to move the stone in one piece, and to have it carved into an ornamental fountain on the site. The words "George Brown & Co., N. Y.," have been painted on the sides of the wooden cribbing that surrounds and protects the stone.
