    Presumably the hopper wagons were pushed by hand. It must have been difficult to build roads suitable for heavy carts on such sandy ground.

    Probably hauled by horses. A small petrol locomotive may have been tried out in 1920.

    I like the token tram, heading east with its rear pole up, on Gardiners Road.......and how Banks Ave was to become the major thoroughfare, with trams. That role fell to Bunnerong Road, at left, and with buses!
