    Waterford Standard - Saturday 09 February 1935, at a meeting of Waterford Corporation
    GRANGE PARK ESTATE. Mr. W. A Deevy, chartered accountant, writing on behalf of the Grange Park Estate Co., stated that his syndicate were about iu start work at the Grange Park Estate, Fennessy s Nursery. Work would be started the building of the first 50 houses immediately, and in all they would build 100 houses. The houses would provide for a section of the community which has not been catered for previously for some time.

    An even bigger housing scheme discussed at the same meeting was at Upper Yellow Road, for which Mr C S Downey's tender for 65 of the 115 planned houses had been accepted at £19,944 8s 6d.

    3 of the carpenters employed by C S Downey at Grange Park Estate went on strike in 1937. They were members of the Amalgamated Society of Woodworkers, who, along with 20 carpenters at the new Waterofrd Jute Factory, downed tools in sympathy with the Dublin strikers. (Waterford Standard - Saturday 18 September 1937)
