As this will be our last post before Christmas Day we Three Marys would like to wish our friends and all who visit this page a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all your wonderful contributions over the past twelve months, thank you for your (virtual) company and thank you for being such wonderful friends.

Far be it from me to stick up for those Krazy Kataloguers, but might it have been a stall to raise money to buy toys to send out to the "Missions"?
  • National Library of Ireland on The Commons said:
Carol Maddock No! Everybody knows that the Kataloguers are Krazy!

O Mac I bet you are exactly right. I wonder what the current owners of these cottages would think if they saw the old pictures. . . . . Thanks to the NLI for sharing. Despite the married name I carry, I am not Scottish!

It looks like an incomplete attempt to airbrush the sky on the negative? Was the image being prepared for publication somewhere?
  • National Library of Ireland on The Commons said:
Bill Bartlett Bill, this shot is not your typical Lawrence capture, it is possible that it was taken on behalf of some publication or other. We do come across early efforts at photo-shopping quite often, Have a close look at the W in Waterford in this photo.
