looks like the good capt. grounded his ship on Fire Island in April, 1911: "The North German liner Prinzess Irene arrived safely at her pier in Hoboken at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon, under her own steam, and looked none the worse for her eighty-three-hour rest on the Fire Island sandbars. Capt. In 1911 when the ship was grounded. The ship was interred in 1914: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Pocahontas_(ID-3044)
