The apse portion of the structure (at center) would be demolished in 1949 to accommodate the construction of an extension to the structure begun that year. This is destruction from September, 1914 in the Battle of Senlis, and this image was a postcard of the eral: "House of Mr. Fenwick, 2d Hussar's Capitain" www.bmsenlis.com/sitebmsenlis/galerie/picture.php?/2319/t... Captain Fenwick's house was in a second postcard as well: images-02.delcampe-static.net/img_large/auction/000/058/7... The Senlis newspaper published an obituary for Capt. Rene-Francois Fenwick, in July, 1918, after he died on the battlefield.: "Mort au Champ d’honneur. Nous apprenons avec regret la mort au champ d’honneur du capitaine Fenwick, qui a été l’objet d’une brillante citation dans les termes suivants : « Fenwick (René-François), capitaine au 31e régiment de dragons, officier très brave et plein d’allant, au front depuis le début de la campagne, n’a cessé de manifester le plus souverain mépris du danger. The Brisbane Clinic, a Specialist Medical Centre, Heritage Listed in 1992, was founded by Dr Jarvis Nye and designed by renowned Architect, Mr Raymond Nowland in 1930. Drs LJ Jarvis Nye, John Bostock and John Power used the American Mayo Clinic in Rochester, as a model to create an ultra-modern group practice of its time with shared facilities to provide the latest in diagnostics and treatment. It was the first of its kind in Australia. Dr Jarvis Nye had been a very successful practitioner in Atherton, with a largely surgical practice. He visited the Mayo Clinic for four months in 1924 and returned full of forward thinking ideas for the development of such a clinic in Brisbane. He met, by chance, a prominent Brisbane psychiatrist, Dr John Bostock. Using their own resources, they set about establishing the “Brisbane Clinic”. Source: brisbaneclinic.com.au/our-history/

A very brave Officer who was gassed during WW1 rushing to help victims of the first gas attack in 1915 in France where he worked in a British Field Hospital. In March 1916 he was awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire}. He was invalided home to Australia in 1917. He was educated at Rockhampton and Brisbane Grammar Schools and studied medicine and surgery at the Sydney Medical School, Sydney University. www.adoptadigger.org
