looks like the good capt. grounded his ship on Fire Island in April, 1911: "The North German liner Prinzess Irene arrived safely at her pier in Hoboken at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon, under her own steam, and looked none the worse for her eighty-three-hour rest on the Fire Island sandbars. Capt. After being taken over by the U. S., she was renamed the Pocahontas.
