On the 25" OSI Map the lower reservoir is already there, but the upper is "in construction. (You have to zoom right in to see them, though.)

Wikipedia article on the Vartry reservoirs. The lower one was completed between 1863-68, the upper in 1923. The engineer was Parke Neville, the Dublin City and Waterworks Engineer. Plus a 1906 Postcard of the Vartry Reservoir in Stillorgan that this fed into.

This is not the main street. On the GeoHive OSI 25" you can see that the Hotels, RIC barracks, Post office are all around the corner to the right, and out of sight. In Streetview, we can see Vartry House is still there at left.
