Highranger Ha ha! Centennial Park Reservoir No.1 (covered) (WS0022), completed 1898. The Australian Town and Country Journal of 22/10/1898 p.10 has a photo taken a few metres to the left of this image at the same time, judging from the vegetation etc. - trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/71319284 . The pavilion is gone; just a brick entrance is there. See more details on the Sydney Water heritage site, which is not at all accurate in details, compared to contemporary newspaper articles.

Much to ornate a handle to grip, lets try that again with a more agricultural design. www.sydneywater.com.au/Sustainability/OurHeritageAssets/_...

Highranger Yes, away with Victorian frippery! The Sydney Water site mentions that - "Circa 1930, the Tennis Pavilion [there were tennis courts on top of the reservoir for a while], designed by architect Howard Jouriand, was relocated to Lane Cove National Park and it remained there until c.1955."

beachcomber australia The Victorian one was much nicer, but I guess it succombed to rust. The Department of Victorian Preservation was out voted by the Department of Myopia. I wonder if their grandchildren followed in their footsteps and used the same the long term principles toward the inspiration behind the Darling Harbour re-development. ;-)

Nat According to Campbelltown City Council it is (PDF). It was built in 1934 so we can add post-1934 to our date above. AB
