Via Trove, this from 1864 - ... The corporation of Cork has been particularly fortunate as to its supply of water, which is obtained from the river Lee at a very short distance above the city. The supply is most abundant, and from the purest quality. It is conveyed to the top of the highest houses in the city, some of which are 300ft. above the level of the river. The waterworks buildings are ornamental, and the whole cost, £80,000., seems incredibly small compared with what other cities have to pay for waterworks. The city has been further improved by the erection of two very beautiful bridges, at a cost of £25,000. One was finished in 1861, and the other this year. The bridges are toll free, and the cost of their erection has been entirely borne by the corporation. ... ... See - trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/8829208?searchTerm=cor...

2018 googlesphere (with an alarming tilt!) shows the 1885 chapel behind the chimney and St Kevins. If they were built, they would show in the photo(?) - goo.gl/maps/CHinfMNtjoS86M4M6 I will shut up now.
