  Gladstone Harbour is a locality in the Gladstone Region, Queensland, Australia. There are three towns in Gladstone Harbour, all on Facing Island: Northcliffe, Farmers Point and Gatcombe. Facing Island was named on 6 August 1802 by Matthew Flinders on his voyage on HMS Investigator (1801) to map the coastline of New Holland (as the continent of Australia was then called). The town of Northcliffe first appears on 1912 survey plan N6211. The town of Farmers Point was named on 1 December 1961,[4] but the name of the point itself first appeared on 1901 survey plan N6211.   Queensland Bottle Tree, Narrow Leaved Bottle Tree, Bottle Tree, Queensland Barrel Tree, Australian Barrel Tree, Dandygook, Kurrajong, Queensland-Flaschenbaum. The Queensland Bottle Tree was discovered by Sir Thomas Mitchell and John Lindley in 1848 at Mount Abundance (near present-day Roma), Queensland, Australia. Aboriginal people carved holes into the soft bark to create reservoir-like structures; consumed the seeds, roots, stems, and bark; and the fibers were used to make twine, rope, and nets. The soft, edible pulp is considered to be energy-rich but protein poor. Queensland farmers have been known to fall whole trees to feedstock during drought conditions.
