    According to Dúchas the lion had already been removed at that stage (1930s), though the bridge was still referred to as the Lion Bridge.

    Here's the view if going across the bridge.

    The OSI 25" features the bridge, whereas it still has a plaque (streetview) on it calling it the Lion Arch Bridge.

    yes, it is horses, I do not see a donkey and cart. oh I love this , there are at least two dogs ! I once holidayed here as a child, the near- by beach was wonderous. # added edits, there may be upto five dogs and I downgrade a geegee to donkee status Also classic "one man digs hole in the road while another admires the exercise"

    At the NIAH: Building was converted to a Hydropathic establishment (i.e. a place where invalids etc could receive baths and other water treatments) some time prior to 1864 by a Dr. W. Alfred Johnson. Johnson renamed the building Malvern House after Great Malvern Spa in England, where his father, Dr Edward Johnson, had a similar establishment. It is marked Malvern on the 1900ish 25" map, and the 1930s Cassini. Not named on the 1830s 6".
