I think the Will Daley posters look very tattered (ragged?!) in this photo. And there are no shadows. And more barrels. So taken at a later date than August 1901?

It seems odd to look up a steep street and see ship's masts. "6d" or sixpence in 1901 is about $20 today, using the average earnings index at www.measuringworth.com/ukcompare/ .
