This is reminiscent of my family home in Toowoomba - or rather the core of my family home, which was added to over the years to acommmodate a larger family.

This Devoy house has survived (albeit modified) It was relocated to a nearby location - now in Findlay Street off Ashgrove Crescent

I had to go check it out on Google maps to see what that street looks like today. Wish I knew which corner it was that the house stood on. See what the street looks like.

The house was to the right of Grasspan Street

Thanks Janelle. That would be 68 Handford Road. Judging from Google Maps the house may still be there, although bricked in underneath. It now has some bushy trees in front so it is hard to tell for sure.

A pleasant 30-minute drive from Toowoomba, just off the Gore Highway is Pittsworth. There lie some of the richest farming lands in Australia. The Pittsworth Pioneer Village showcases the early development of the area and is dedicated to the memory of the feats of Arthur Postle - the "Crimson Flash". Once the world's fastest athlete, Postle grew up in the region and developed his love of running on the family farm. Crafty travelers will be interested in the Lady Fletcher Lace Room which houses one of Australia's largest lace collections. While at the RSL Display Centre, you can view an extensive collection of wartime memorabilia. In Hume Street you will find the gracious St Stephen's Catholic Church, constructed in 1908.
