    They certainly look happy. Was this in 1912? With the GOP in disarray that year, I'd guess they smell blood in the water, after 44 of the last 52 years having a Republican President.

The Panama Canal had already been built and fully operational this point, during the Roosevelt administration.

    This is probably taken when Wilson addressed Congress regarding the arrest of a US Naval officer and men loading supplies in Tampico. This incident led to the short occupation of Veracruz later in the year.

    Wystan & Ken's Aviation: Yes, it seems the Bain caption cards, as well as the information on the photographs themselves, were in error here. We will adjust the information to reflect the correct date of April 20, 1914, as well as provide more context with the information swanq provided here. Wilson was addressing a joint session of Congress regarding the Tampico Incident of early 1914, as you also concluded, Ken. Thanks for the info!
