He is best known for writing the famous war memorial poem In Flanders Fields.

He must be proud of his new farm denims. You can see the copper buttons shining, not a speck of dirt on the clothes.

Title: Pride Goeth In the Fall The caption says he might be a farmer... do ya think??? The buttons feature red paint and a design I can't make out (looks like a duck head, but I doubt if it's Bass Pro RedHead). I'll bet someone out there could identify the brand (assuming their not homespun).

David H. Slade was a New Haven attorney indicted in 1915 (with his brother Maxwell Slade) on a charge of conspiracy to obstruct justice. Best I can tell....Slade and Slade represented Rae Tanzer, in a seduction/breach of promise suit against a man named James W. Osborne (also a lawyer). Turned out that Osborne wasn't the man she said he was. Then Tanzer was arrested for perjury, and using the mails with intent to defraud, with related conspiracy charges that included the Slades and Tanzer's two sisters (Dora and Rose), and a hotel clerk, Frank Safford, and a detective named McCullough.
