RMS ARCADIA

What a great photo of a grand ship! I think [http://www.flickr.com/photos/51979177@N02] is going well with the date. The Metropole Hotel (opened 1891) is looking structurally complete. And there is no 1895 dome on the Colonial Secretary's Office - it would be behind the Mort & Co.pointy bit.

The steamer called at Tangiers and Gibraltar and on leaving Marseilles on July 20 she had 710 passengers. The usual calls were made at the Port Side Aden Bombay, and Colombo, and the weather was enjoyed during practically the whole of the voyage to Australia. The Strathaird, which has a number of round-voyage passengers, is a pioneer of the Australian cruising liners. She will sail from New Farm Wharf at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday on a pleasure cruise to Fiji and will be a full ship leaving Brisbane. For the convenience of passengers and their friends, the following telephones will be installed at New Farm Warf.
