I wonder if this picture could have been taken at the very beginning or end of the parade. The street cars are running, and there seems to be a concentration of action at the front of the frame, where men are talking with women and there seem to be several police. . . . people in the crowd are facing in many different directions, which is confusing. Perhaps the man is dispensing sashes for marchers to wear?

How could have American men been so stupid to keep women from voting until 1919? Unbelievable. We had human beings as SLAVES until Lincoln's time, and we had women unable to vote until 1919, and some places in the South would not let Blacks vote until the 1950's

And why did women /allow/ this to continue? You go grls! Kick ass! (No black women in the marchers, you can be sure).

I am a male, but I wish they would have made a law that every other election would have women candidates only. Perhaps we would have gotten into fewer wars.

I believe the marchers are gathered at the front of the frame. (and those look like raised billy clubs in the right foreground.) Note the African American lady in the foreground and her companion.
