Really, perhaps just the original New York Times building, in back of the Franklin statue, is all that's left. I think the group in silk hats and cutaways in this picture and in one nearby is the "Mayor's Escort", which was made up of one representative of each of the 74 trade groups that marched that day. Last year travelling to Ennis had to pick up that farmer's daughter's bag and hand it to her at Limerick junction. Unclaimed money too. There's a little watch up there on the roof of the bank to test those glasses by.

In today's photo we see Yeates shop still advertising Race Glasses in the window, and further along, "old Harris's".

Flickr seems to think this photo was taken on May 20th 2091. Perhaps Dublin will have been converted to a Joycean theme park by then.

I deserve to have my toggles ceremonially ripped off, but I completely blanked that we had seen this exact photo before. Sometimes longingly wish that we had one of those Men in Black gadgets, and that we could wipe all of your elephantine memories...
