The Washburn fellow in the Giants' uniform is a mystery. Our initial hunch was that he was former Giant outfielder-turned-pitcher LIbe Washburn on a return visit to the team. But Washburn could have been a non-baseball figure, such as someone from the theatrical world in which Mike Donlin had been employed. Baseball is the American game. One person showing another person a different pitch. The uniforms haven't changed much but look at that glove. There is no form to it at all. I sure hope there is more padding in it than it shows.
