wow - the buildings haven't truly changed that much - the one on the right - the old Goslar Rathaus (town hall):



The one on the left is Hotel Kaiserworth - front view below:

What a nice scenery, but look how empty the place seems. What a contrast to the Market Place today. Sixty years later all of those proud buildings went up in smoke during that terrible and stupid war.

All of it was bombed away in WWII - over 90% of the inner city was destroyed.

That was a marketplace! And now? The new buildings from the 60th are ugly and horrible! Stuttgart is a rich city and could build more beautiful! But they prefer to buy big Mercedes cars....
