The Saddle and Show Horse Chronicle, Volume 7, 1917-1918 shows that Miss Wanamaker was an extremely successful horsewoman. Mrs. Stokes' husband, Walter C. Stokes, was a New York stockbroker; Mrs. Schiff's husband was Mortimer L. Schiff (1877-1931), a banker active in the Boy Scouts of America. Same location, same day (you can see Mrs. Billings and Mrs. Johnson on the left, in the same hats as this photo):
